Roast and Chop at 550 E. Lancaster Ave., Wayne, will host a fundraising day for the Stand With Iraqi Christians (SWIC) initiative. Simply mention Stand With Iraqi Christians or SWIC at the checkout and half of the proceeds will be donated to the organization. This offer is for eating in or taking out. Please make Roast and Chop part of your meal plans on Sunday, September 30, between 10:30 and 8 p.m. Everyone is welcome to enjoy a delicious meal and help fund SWIC’s efforts in Iraq at the same time!

Mission and Social Media SundayJoin with congregants of St. Martin’s Church, Radnor, Christ Church, Ithan, and students of Eastern University in a special Sunday service on September 30th, at the Baird Library on Eastern University’s campus (2nd floor of the Walton Building).

During the 10:00 a.m. service, missioners will be sent forth with prayers for their upcoming trip to Iraq on October 3rd through the 16th. Attendees will be permitted and encouraged to use their smartphones, tablets, and other digital devices during the service to post, tweet, snap, etc. Learn and experience how digital connections are made between the U.S. and Iraq. SWIC-Resolution D063 Accepted

Resolution D063 Supporting Christians in Iraq

SWIC at the Episcopal General Convention 2018Fr. Chris, George Vosburgh, and many others were able to draft and amend a resolution that was accepted by the House of Deputies in Austin on Tuesday, July 10th at the Episcopal General Convention. Many thanks to all SWIC donors and volunteers who have helped to grow our organization. The Episcopal Church in the U.S. now recognizes our efforts in collaboration with the Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf. The resolution reads in part:

“Resolved, the House of Deputies concurring, That the General Convention of the Episcopal Church express its support for the right of all Christians and other persecuted minorities in Iraq to live their life of faith and develop their communities free of persecution, discrimination and violence; and be it further

Resolved, That the General Convention encourages The Episcopal Church, working in partnership with the Anglican Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf, to provide prayers, friendship, and material support as determined by the needs and aspirations of Iraq’s Christians, as an expression of our love and recognition of their religious, cultural, and humanitarian inclusion in the sacred Body of Christ; …”
