The Vestry and Wardens of St. Martin`s Church (and Christ Church, Ithan) have determined that all church activities should be suspended for the foreseeable future in view of the current United States health emergency as a result of the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
This decision aligns with the Diocese and local practice, as well as concern for the health of our parishioners and guests. This includes Sunday worship services, Lenten supper gatherings, and all other church activities until further notice.

Both churches senior wardens met with our two supply priests on Tuesday 24-March via Zoom to discuss how to best support the two parishes while operating with an abundance of caution for the health of each person. It was agreed that there will be no face to face services or activities until May 4th in alignment with the CDC and Diocesan guidance. The Baptism at CCI will be postponed. The palms order cannot be cancelled. We agreed to NOT hand them out or leave them out for pick up but to burn and use for next year’s Ashes. There be no Easter face to face activities. Lenten Series will continue via Zoom.
- Fr. David and Fr. Karl will be recording services and devotionals for the two churches. These will continue to be sent out via a link in an email to all parishioners by the church administrators.
- The Vestry will meet April 23rd via Zoom.
- The Rector Search Committee has paused the candidate visits. The two finalists will be rescheduled to visit at a future date.
- Please reach out to your friends and neighbors to check on them.
A Prayer for Connection
Dear God, We’re grateful that You never leave or forsake us. And, we’re grateful for the technology that helps us stay in touch with each other. Give us strength to endure this difficult season and deepen our connection with You and Your people. Today, help us remember that this time of social distancing and isolation will not last forever. Empower us with an extra dose of Your love, peace, hope and joy. Remind us of Your promises, and please heal our land. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
As an option to in-person worship, the Diocese will have a virtual service posted live from the Cathedral on Facebook at 10:00 AM on Sundays – https://www.facebook.com/philadelphiaepiscopalcathedral/
