Clergy Status for St. Martin’s Church, Radnor and Christ Church, Ithan in 2020
With Fr. Chris’s last Sunday at St Martin`s being December 29th, we will take time in December to recognize and thank Chris and his family for all they have done for us and with us at St. Martin`s. Fr. John Sosnowski will be leaving Christ Church, Ithan at the end of the year as well.
Both churches have worked to ensure that our services will be covered by priests known to our congregations. Fr. Karl Krueger and Fr. David Laquintano will begin to serve at the two churches starting on Sunday, January 5, 2020. David will be at St. Martin’s and Karl will be at Christ Church. They will then alternate weekly between the churches. Karl will be the liaison to Christ Church and Nancy McLaughlin concerning the weekly bulletin. David will be the liaison to St. Martin’s and Maggie concerning the bulletin. Both priests have indicated a willingness to be available for funerals. Christ Church will pay Karl; St. Martin’s will pay David.
If either are not available to serve, they will reach out to Bob Tate, who is the consultant for the Search, to substitute. If he isn’t available, St. David’s Church in Wayne can be contacted to see if one of their priests might be available.
Fr. Karl and Fr. David have agreed to serve our two churches until the shared Rector is called and in place. This may entail being at the churches through Lent and Easter, depending on the timing.
Both vestries have agreed that a supply priest will be necessary once the new Rector arrives so that he/she may alternate between the churches for a period of time as he/she gets acquainted with both communities.
Any other issues can be brought to the respective Wardens (St. Martin’s are Sandy Reinhardt and Fran Pettit and Christ Church`s are Jacqui North and Bruce Wietlisbach).
If you have any questions, please call Fr. Chris or Sandy or Fran. Good communication between the respective vestries and with each congregation will be essential in this time of transition. Our leadership is committed to keeping people informed.
