Welcome to St. Martin's Church, an Episcopal parish of the Diocese of Pennsylvania. As a Christ centered congregation of individuals and families drawn together by sacraments, worship, education and fellowship, we represent a variety of geographical areas, races, ages and national origins. We work to serve our members as well as the local and world communities, through faith, witness and outreach.

Pulpit Ponderings…..thoughts from the Rector

QUESTION: Why Does the Rector Love the FAIR? (choose one):

A. She enjoys the stress of prayerfully producing good weather
B. She thrives on the collection of “fleas” in the Carriage House
C. She is amazed by the Gurley Room’s overflowing basket of “cheer”
D. She is litigiously energized by kids colliding on the moon bounce
E. ALL OF THE ABOVE! (and lots more)

If your choice is “E” - you are correct! As the entire Fair team knows, the Fair is a great event not only because we raise money, but even more, because the Fair witnesses to our collective labors and dreams. The Fair is a SYMBOL of who we are: a community of faith, a circle of friends, a part of the family of God.

Let’s look at the day itself. An explosion of busy tables and activities, chatter and laughter, music and dancing, friends and food, young and old – ALL of these converge in ONE place, in the heart of our campus. We gather to play, to work, to welcome new friends, and we leave with renewed resolve to share the blessing that we call St. Martin’s.

Outside, under the trees and tents, we are really doing EUCHARIST. Just as the altar bread becomes Christ’s body and flows through us into the wider world, the spirit of the Fair continues to strengthen our mission long after the tents are down. Calling all golfers!

Block off Wednesday, September 30, 2009 for the Second Annual Swing into Life FBSPC golf tournament at the Whitford Country Club, Exton, PA. Your day includes a round of golf, box lunch, cocktails, dinner and guest speaker Eric Hipple, former NFL quarterback and author. Register a group or as an individual golfer for this exciting event.
